On July 26, 2021, at 1 am, an officer with the Oxford Police Department<\/strong> was doing a foot patrol in\u00a0the Links Apartments<\/strong> when they heard multiple gunshots around the 300 block. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon further investigation, officers determined that Alfred McKinney<\/strong>, 21, of Oxford<\/strong>, Mississippi<\/strong>, and Markevius Owten<\/strong>, 22, of Marks, <\/strong>Mississippi, were both involved after a domestic disturbance had occurred that was not\u00a0reported to law enforcement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They were both subsequently arrested for Aggravated Assault. \u00a0No one was injured during this incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

McKinney and Owten were each given a $50,000 bond by a \u00a0Lafayette County Justice Court judge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
