Admission is free and lawn chairs and picnics are welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The show is part of the <strong>Summer Sunset Series<\/strong> and is sponsored by the <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/fordcenter.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ford Center<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/arts.ms.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mississippi Arts Commission<\/a><\/strong>, and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/oxfordarts.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yoknapatawpha Arts Council<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guests will include author <strong>Melissa Ginsburg<\/strong> and her literary thriller, <em><strong>The House Uptown<\/strong><\/em>, with musical guests, vocal group <strong>Damein Wash &amp; The Venture Fourths<\/strong> and R&amp;B singer<strong> Effie Burt<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hosts of the show are <strong>Jim Dees <\/strong>and Thacker house band, <strong>The Yalobushwhackers<\/strong>. In the event of rain, the show will move to the <strong>Gertrude C. Ford Center<\/strong> located at 351 University Ave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be no live broadcast. This show will be recorded for air later this summer. The Thacker Mountain Radio Hour can be heard locally every Thursday at 6 pm on WUMS 92.1 FM (or online) and every Saturday at 7 pm on Mississippi Public Broadcasting, on air at 90.3 FM in Oxford, or online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thacker producer <strong>Alice Pierotti<\/strong> says the show\u2019s crew looks forward to seeing familiar faces after a year and a half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re grateful we were able to keep the show going through in-studio shows,\u201d she noted, \u201cbut there\u2019s no substitute for an audience. We\u2019re really looking forward to Sunday\u2019s show.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since March 2020 the show has relied on phone interviews with authors and pre-recorded musical performances. The Thacker crew expects to resume live shows this fall at <strong>Off Square Books <\/strong>and the <strong>Lyric Theatre<\/strong>, even if seating is limited.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The show has performed live only twice this year, both on the road, in <strong>Clarksdale<\/strong> and <strong>Meridian<\/strong>. Host Dees says that while those shows came off without any problems, he and the crew are ready to return home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt really is like riding a bicycle,\u201d he says. \u201cYou think maybe you\u2019ve forgotten how until you jump back on and take off.
