Rick Addy wins re-election for Ward I Alderman; Brian Hyneman and Preston Taylor advance to the General Election June 8, 2021<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Official totals for Primary Elections<\/strong> in Oxford, Mississippi<\/strong>, including absentee and affidavit ballots:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were 954 ballots cast on Primary<\/strong> Election Day<\/strong>, April 6, 2021. There were 178 absentee ballots cast. Fourteen affidavit ballots were accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seventeen affidavit ballots were rejected for various reasons, including no voter registration, registered to vote after the deadline, registered in a different ward, and lack of witness signatures by poll workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are four affidavit ballots that are pending the showing of a photo ID. The voters of these ballots have five days after the election to present ID, otherwise they will be rejected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because there is no Republican or Independent challenger, Rick Addy<\/strong> is re-elected to another four-year term as Alderman of Ward I. He won by a total of 24 votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brian Hyneman<\/strong> wins the Democratic nomination in Ward III and will face Republican McQueen Miscamble<\/strong> in the general election June 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preston Taylor<\/strong> wins the Democratic nomination in Ward V and will face Republican Barney Chadwick<\/strong> in the general election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
