As well, businesses may choose to open up to pre-pandemic levels up to 100% capacity. Restrictive hours of alcohol sales in bars and restaurants have been discontinued and are now back to regular hours not seen in nearly a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Starting tomorrow, we are lifting all of our county mask mandates and businesses will be able to operate at full capacity without any state-imposed rules. Our hospitalizations and case numbers have plummeted, and the vaccine is being rapidly distributed. However, the <strong>City of Oxford<\/strong> took up the matter at their bi-weekly meeting last night and overwhelming voted to accept the Governor\u2019s authority and decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI think we have done a great job here, and a lot of that was because we were more strict than the Governor\u2019s orders early on,\u201d said Alderman-At-Large <strong>John Morgan<\/strong>. \u201cI don\u2019t see any reason now why we would not follow the Governor\u2019s guidelines, although I would hope that anybody that still felt like they wanted to wear a mask would wear a mask and any business owner that wanted to have a sign out front still requiring a mask, should be able do it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mayor <strong>Robyn Tannehill<\/strong> said she had heard from several local business owners who wanted to keep restrictions in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve already heard from several that said, \u2018Whatever y\u2019all decide, I\u2019m still going to require masks in my business. Can I do that?\u2019\u201d said Mayor Robyn Tannehill. \u201cAbsolutely you can.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the meeting, the <strong>Oxford Police Department<\/strong> delivered a warning on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBusinesses will be allowed to determine what is best for them and their employees,\u201d read the OPD post. \u201cSome businesses may still require a mask before entering.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf you do not adhere to their rules, you can be asked to leave the premises. If they choose to remain at 50% capacity that is their decision. This includes the <strong>Ole Miss Baseball<\/strong> stadium. However, indoor arenas must remain at 50% capacity.
