On Sunday, January 31, 2021, at approximately 4:00 PM, the Oxford Police Department<\/strong> received a 911 call from Walmart<\/strong> management who stated that they had a subject inside the store telling customers that he planted a bomb inside the store, and that they needed to leave before it went off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officers quickly arrived  and were directed to the suspect who was trying to leave. An arrest was made without further incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Walmart store was quickly evacuated and a perimeter was set up until additional resources could arrive. Three explosives detection canines from other agencies were called to the scene to assist OPD in searching the store.  At 7:47 pm, the all-clear was given. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jordan Montrey Williams<\/strong> (26 of Oxford, Mississippi<\/strong>) was arrested and charged with False Reporting of a Bomb, Explosive, or Weapons of Mass Destruction.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Lafayette County Justice Court judge gave Williams a $50,000 bond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
