Today the Mississippi Department of Health<\/strong> (MSDH) is reporting 2,186 new cases of COVID-19<\/strong> in Mississippi <\/strong>and 38 new deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11, 2020 now stands at 272,662, with 5,983 deaths.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently there are 956 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection. There are currently 244 people hospitalized in intensive care for confirmed COVID-19. There are 78 intensive care beds available statewide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 181 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff). There are 20 new long-term care cases and 3 new long-term care deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
