Today the Mississippi Department of Health<\/strong> (MSDH) is reporting 1,616 new cases of COVID-19<\/strong> in Mississippi <\/strong>and 13 new deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 223,677, with 4,884 deaths.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently there are 1,313 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection. There are currently 317 people hospitalized in intensive care for confirmed COVID-19. There are 49 intensive care beds available statewide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 235 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff). There are 29 new long-term care cases and 8 new long-term care deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
