\nOn Tuesday, July 26, Investigators with the Oxford Police Department arrested Brianna Sims(18 Oxford, MS.) for burglary. On 07-23-2016, the Oxford Police Department received a call about a burglary that had already occurred in the Cotton Creek Subdivision. Upon the officer\u2019s arrival, the reporting party reported several items missing from the residence but found property that belonged to Sims inside. Sims was given a bond of $5,000.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nOn July 22nd 2016, Oxford Police Officers arrested Randy Hudson 41, of Grenada. He was picked up by Tunica County Sherriff Department on a traffic stop. Oxford had a Felony Warrant on Mr. Hudson and after they call our department we advised them we would come and transport. Mr. Hudson bond was revoke because he was out on a previous Felony bond. \nOn Tuesday, July 12, the Oxford Police Department arrested William Holcomb (84 Oxford, MS.) for peeping tom. On July 9, the Oxford Police Department took a report from a victim about a male looking through her window. The victim identified the person as Holcomb and that he was her neighbor. The victim asked Holcomb to leave after he invited her over to his house. The victim stated that she told Holcomb no and he began to rub on his crotch in her presence. The victim left her apartment at the time and made a report to the police department about the incident. Holcomb was arrested for peeping tom and was given a bond of $1,000.<\/span><\/p>\n

Donald Draper Jr. was accused of robbing a female at a gas station on Hwy 6 West (Circle K) and fled the scene on foot. Draper attempted to get in the car with the female, when she told him to get out he stole her wallet and then ran. Officers apprehended Donald Draper across the highway from the convenient store. \nOn Wednesday, June 29, 2016 Investigators of the Oxford Police Department served an arrest warrant to Mr. Michael Ballentine (46) of Sardis, Mississippi with one count of Felony Shoplifting (97-23-93(6). Mr. Ballentine was accused of shoplifting at 2530 Jackson Avenue (Wal-Mart Supercenter) on June 27, 2016. Total amount stolen was over $800. Ballentine has two other convictions on his record for shoplifting. Mr. Ballentine\u2019s was booked for Felony Shoplifting (97-23-93(6) and his bond was set at $2,500.00 dollars.<\/span><\/p>\n

Armed Robbery<\/span><\/strong>
\nAt approximately 0500 on June 30th, Officers responded to Lafayette Place for a reported robbery. The caller stated that a friend was at his home when they got into a verbal altercation that lead to a fight. The suspect then grabbed a knife and tried to rob the victim of his wallet and phone. The victim then fled on foot while being chased. A security guard at the complex saw the men running and went over to assist. The suspect then left the area. The victim called us around 0500 but when officers spoke with him he stated the incident happened around 0300 that morning. The victim suffered minor cuts, no medical assistance was needed. No arrests have been made and the case is still under investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n
