At Ajax, there\u2019s more down-home soul on the menu than at a Southern Baptist tent revival on a Mississippi Sunday in the dead of July. Sure, that\u2019s a mouthful, but that\u2019s what you get at Ajax. Whether it\u2019s a mountain of chicken and dumplings or a bowl of mac and cheese, you\u2019ll have a tough time believing it ain\u2019t mama back there in the kitchen. Just don\u2019t tell her you like Matty\u2019s mom\u2019s meatloaf more than hers. After all, it\u2019s filled with cheese. Lawd have mercy!<\/p>\n

Ajax Diner was voted Oxford\u2019s Favorite<\/strong> in three categories: \u201cFavorite Burger,\u201d \u201cFavorite Soul Food,\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cFavorite Local Restaurant,\u201d<\/strong> Ajax Diner is a great place to eat and so much more. Their lunch menu features a selection of salads, sandwiches, and po-boys, including Pop\u2019s Shrimp Salad and a Fried Oyster Po-Boy. The dinner menu features a 16 oz. house cut ribeye steak and a 14 oz. Buffalo Porterhouse Porkchop that is char grilled and served topped with a spicy molasses BBQ sauce and bleu cheese compound butter.<\/p>\n

Stop in after dinner for a full bar and occasional live music, never a cover!<\/p>\n
