Oxford’s newest fitness facility opened Tuesday, May 15th as an enthusiastic crowd came to witness the ribbon-cutting ceremony and special CrossFit competition. The new business, located off of Heritage Drive next door to the Win Job Center, brings a fresh option for fitness training to Oxford. After an intense competition, five winners each received a free month’s membership to the new box as well as official CrossFit UDC T-shirts. First place winners each received a check in the amount of $50. The workout challenged athletes to complete as many rounds as possible (AMRAP) of four different excercises, including Box Jumps, Lunges, and Burpees, as well as a 5-minute rowing race. The event ended with many new members signing up to give the sport of fitness a try.
