Two Arrested After Gunshots Heard at The Links Apartments in Oxford
On July 26, 2021, at 1 am, an officer with the Oxford Police Department was doing a foot patrol in the Links Apartments when they heard multiple gunshots around the 300 block.
Upon further investigation, officers determined that Alfred McKinney, 21, of Oxford, Mississippi, and Markevius Owten, 22, of Marks, Mississippi, were both involved after a domestic disturbance had occurred that was not reported to law enforcement.
They were both subsequently arrested for Aggravated Assault. No one was injured during this incident.
McKinney and Owten were each given a $50,000 bond by a Lafayette County Justice Court judge.
