Taxi Driver Confessions: Philip Howard

Name: Philip Howard

Taxi company you work for and your shifts? Hotty Toddy Taxi – Mon., Wed., Thu. and Fri.

Where are you from, and how long have you been in Oxford? What brought you here? Olive Branch, 12 years, originally an education… bills have kept me here.

What’s your favorite type of fare? Anyone not complaining about the price or making me wait for them to come outside.

Have you ever picked up a celebrity, or do you have a favorite customer? Carried around the crew for Playboy when they did the shoot.

What’s the funniest thing that’s happened while you were on duty lately? Ha! A story worth telling in person… ask next time ya ride.

What taxi law do you think Oxford should change? Not so much a law but yelling at us to get out of the street when the drunken zombie-like masses are swarming our vehicles would be nice.

Do you have a favorite movie? The Big Lebowski

Read any good books lately? Art of Seduction

How do you feel about the Black Bear? Makes about as much sense as having something besides Ronald McDonald as the mascot for McDonald’s… not many black bears “rebel”ing a cause.

What do you like best about living in Oxford? Noticing the velvet more days than the ditch.
