Suspect Arrested in Oxford, Mississippi for Four Counts of Auto Burglary

On December 24, 2017, Officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to the area of Church Street acting on a tip that there had just been an auto burglary.

Upon arrival to the area a male, identified as Allen Mathis (21) of Oxford, was fleeing the area of the auto burglary on foot. Officers were able to detain Mathis.

Once officers spoke with Mathis he admitted that he had broken into a vehicle along with breaking in another vehicle earlier in the day. Mathis was also charged with two more counts (4 total) of Auto Burglary that had occurred in the same area.

Mathis was transported to LCDC where his bond was set at $20,000.00 but was revoked due to Mathis already being out on a separate felony bond. The Local Voice Ligature
