Southside Gallery Presents: Comfort Food: Quilts of Service

Artists’ Reception, Saturday, October 26, 7–9 pm

Southside Gallery is pleased to present a new exhibition of quilts by Becky Tatum, Coulter Fussell, Katherine Montague, and Megan Patton.

The impetus for this exhibition was sparked by the four quilters’ experience with the food service industry and their relationships with family culinary traditions. Design inspirations range from family heirlooms such as China patterns and vintage Pyrex to picnics and cocktail parties. The quilters also used a number of imaginative materials such as tablecloths, tea towels, napkins and ticket orders written by fellow waitresses on sewable paper.
