Shooting inside The Lyric Theater in Oxford, Mississippi During Double Decker Festival; Suspect Still At Large

On April 27, 2018, at 9:48 PM, officers with the Oxford Police Department were outside The Lyric Theater working a post for Double Decker Festival when they reported a disturbance inside The Lyric.

As police were entering, people were saying, “it was a shooting.” The situation was quickly contained and an investigation ensued.

A fight had broken out inside of The Lyric. The suspect fired one shot off into the air. No one was actually hit by the shot that was fired. The victim that was hurt was injured by broken glass when everyone started running.

Videos and photography of the incident have emerged.
