Abbeville, Mississippi Man Arrested for DUI 4th in Oxford
On Saturday, May 25, 2019, officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to a call of a driver that appeared to be under the influence. Officers came in contact with Blake Marquis (38 of Abbeville, Mississippi) and began a DUI investigation. During the stop officers learned that Marquis had at least three prior DUI convictions on his record. Marquis was subsequently arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was charged with DUI 4th. He was given a bond of $10,000 by a Justice Court Judge but due to being out after a previous felony conviction MDOC placed a hold on him.
Hattiesburg, Mississippi Man Arrested for DUI 3rd in Oxford
On Monday, May 27, 2019, officers with the Oxford Police Department made a traffic stop on West Jackson Avenue for a vehicle that was driving carelessly. Officers came in contact with Datrel Williamson (31 of Hattiesburg, Mississippi) and suspected him of driving under the influence. A DUI investigation was conducted on Williamson. During the stop officers learned that Williamson had at least two prior DUI convictions on his record. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where was charged with DUI 3rd, speeding, careless driving, no driver’s license, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was given a bond of $5,000 by a Justice Court Judge.

Memphis, Tennessee Man Arrested in Oxford, Mississippi for Statutory Rape
On Wednesday, April 24, 2019, officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to a residence for an argument between family members. Upon arrival officers learned of a female juvenile that was having a sexual relationship with Antoine Kearney (30 of Memphis, Tennessee). Subsequently an arrest warrant for statutory rape was issued for Kearney. Kearney was eventually apprehended in Memphis with the assistance of the Memphis Police Department and the United States Marshal Task Force and brought back to Oxford on May 22. He was given a bond of $100,000 by a Justice Court Judge.

The officer came in contact with the driver, Mitchell Parrish (29 of Abbeville, Mississippi), and suspected him of driving under the influence. A DUI investigation was conducted at that time. During the stop officers learned that Parrish had at least three prior DUI convictions on his record. He was arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and charged with DUI 4th, careless driving, no insurance, and open container. He was given a bond of $5,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
Water Valley, Mississippi Woman Arrested in Oxford Kroger for Shoplifting
On Thursday, May 16, 2019, officers responded to Kroger for a reported shoplifting. They came in contact with Daphne Rogers (39 of Water Valley, Mississippi) who was attempting to flee the store. She was subsequently arrested and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center and charged with felony shoplifting. She was given a bond of $5,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
