Oxford, Mississippi Board of Aldermen Agenda – Tuesday, February 21, 2017 – 5pm

Notice that certain commission members will be included in the meeting via teleconference, subject to City of Oxford Code of Ordinances Section 2-82.

  2. Adopt the agenda for the meeting.

  4. Authorize approval of minutes of the regular meeting on February 7, 2017.
  1. Authorize approval of accounts for all city departments.
  1. Consider consent agenda:
    1. Request permission to send four employees to the MS Department of Environmental Quality Rubbish Site Class on April 26-27, 2017 in Jackson, MS at an estimated cost of $1,590.00. (Amberlyn Liles)
    2. Request permission for the Fire Chief to attend the Urban Search & Rescue Central Division and Table Top Exercise on March 21-23, 2017 in Las Vegas, NV at no cost to the city (all expenses will be reimbursed by the Task Force). (Mark Heath)
    3. Request permission for the City Floodplain Manager to attend AFMM Spring Training Event in Natchez, MS on May 16, 2017 at an estimated cost of $470.00. (Randy Barber)
    4. Request permission for Water and Sewer Superintendent and Water Service Technician to attend the 2017 Annual Management & Technical Conference and Exhibition in Jackson, MS on March 27-30, 2017 at an estimated cost of $1,500.00. (Bart Robinson)
    5. Request permission for a Fire Inspector to attend the Fire and Life Safety Educator Conference in Biloxi, MS on April 4-7, 2017 at an estimated cost of $650.00. (Mark Heath)

  1. Request permission to accept a donation from the Oxford Rotary Club to cover the cost of a planter on the Southwest side of the square. (Phil Bailey/Russ McNees)

  1. Request permission to adopt a resolution honoring the 2017 OHS Charger Soccer team.
  1. Request permission to adopt a resolution finding and declaring that the public convenience and necessity requires the acquisition by eminent domain of that certain property located within and along the proposed West Oxford Loop Right of Way Project (SEMP 36(1)).

First reading of a proposed Ordinance amending the zoning map based on a request, for Case #2162, by Updraft Investments, LLC, to rezone +/- 48.68 acres from RE, RA and GB to TND (Traditional Neighborhood Development) for property located west of North Lamar Boulevard, East of Chickasaw Road and South of Molly Barr Road, further described as PPINs #5042 and #5067.
