Obituary: Horace L. “Dell” Clark, Jr. – August 11, 1942 – September 16, 2021

Horace L. “Dell” Clark, Jr. died Thursday, September 16, 2021, at his home in Tunica, Mississippi. He was 79.

A native of Biloxi, he had made his home in the Port Gibson/Vicksburg area for most of his life. He was a graduate of Port Gibson High School and later taught there.

For the past 20 years he had been making his home in Tunica where he was a member of the Tunica First Baptist Church.

Dell was an avid vinyl record collector and was known as having the largest collection of records in the state of Mississippi. Dell hosted many records sales in Oxford over the years at the “Indoor Garage Sale” at the Oxford Conference Center. After having several successful sales at Yalobusha Brewing Company in Water Valley, Dell opened and operated his own record store, Valley Vinyl for a few years. Clark also hosted Tunicapalooza,” a massive record sale in his hometown of Tunica.

Survivors include his wife, Sumie K. Clark; his son, Jack Reismiller; his sister, Jane Clark; his niece, Cindy Jackson, and 4 grandchildren.

Funeral services were Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 1 pm in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson with Revs. Danny Smith and Robert Lanair officiating. Interment was in the Wintergreen Cemetery.
