New COVID-19 Cases Remain High in Mississippi

Today the Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) is reporting 1,116 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and nine deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 109,255, with 3,160 deaths. 

Currently there are 482 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection. There are currently 146 people hospitalized in intensive care for confirmed COVID-19.

There are 128 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff). There are 46 new long-term care case and four new long-term care deaths.
