New COVID-19 Cases in Mississippi Continue to Decline

Today the Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) is reporting 791 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 26 new deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11, 2020 now stands at 277,322, with 6,158 deaths. 

Currently there are 898 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection. There are currently 262 people hospitalized in intensive care for confirmed COVID-19. There are 90 intensive care beds available statewide.

There are 148 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff). There are 11 new long-term care cases and 3 new long-term care deaths.
