New COVID-19 Cases and Hospitalizations Continue to Decline in Mississippi

Today the Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) is reporting 684 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 23 new deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11, 2020 now stands at 289,398, with 6,524 deaths. 

Currently there are 559 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection. There are currently 168 people hospitalized in intensive care for confirmed COVID-19. There are 88 intensive care beds available statewide.

There are 112 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff). There are 5 new long-term care cases and 0 new long-term care deaths.
