Today the Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) is reporting 1,775 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 48 new deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 57,579, with 1,611 deaths.
Currently there are 972 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection. There are currently 273 people hospitalized for suspected COVID-19.
55 of the new cases reported today were among residents in long-term care facilities with 13 deaths in long-term care, and there are now 203 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).
