Mississippi COVID-19 Cases Rise to 27,900 and 1,082 Deaths

Today the Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) is reporting 653 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 9* new deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 27,900, with 1,082 deaths. 

4 of these deaths occurred between June 18 and June 25, and were identified from death certificates.

Currently there are 579 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection. There are currently 207 people hospitalized for suspected COVID-19.

54 of the new cases reported today were among residents in long-term care facilities, and there are now 98 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).
