Mississippi COVID-19 Cases Rise to 11,432 and 528 Deaths

Today Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 136 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 7 new deaths (two of which were identified from May 5 death certificate reports).

Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 11,432, with 528 deaths. Currently there are 389 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection, the lowest number this month.

10 of the new cases reported today were among residents in long-term care facilities, and active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities have fallen to 98 (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).
