Hero’s Parade Set for Friday, May 22 in Oxford, Mississippi for U.S. Marshal Shot in the Line of Duty

On Friday, May 15, 2020, a Deputy United States Marshal was shot in the line of duty in Oxford, Mississippi. Throughout the past several days the Deputy Marshal has continued to recovery and this Friday, May 22, 2020, he will be leaving the hospital healthy.

Local, State and Federal law enforcement officers will be escorting him from Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi through the city of Oxford for a Hero’s Parade.

Law enforcement are asking the public to watch the parade along the route and honor the Marshal. The escort will begin the escort at 1:30 pm Friday afternoon at Baptist Memorial Hospital and will continue up South Lamar Boulevard through the Square, and then up North Lamar, all the way to Highway 30. The Hero’s Parade will end at Three Way.

Law enforcement asks that the community not come to the hospital as they will be keeping that area closed for family members and law enforcement officials.
