Handel’s Dettingen Te Deum with the UM Concert Singers and Orchestra – March 3 at Nutt Auditorium
The University of Mississippi Concert Singers will perform Handel’s Dettingen Te Deum, a work composed in 1743 for the occasion of celebrating a British victory at the battle of Dettingen. King George II ordered the commission and the performance occurred on November 27, 1743 in the Chapel Royal in London.
The UM Concert Singers’ performance will include orchestra and soloists: Brady Bramlett, Sergio Vergara, Andrew Ross, and Chance Ragsdale. Conducting the concert will be Dr. Don Trott, Director of Choral Activities.
