Etta, Mississippi Man Arrested in for Arson in Lafayette County
On Wednesday September 15, 2021, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and a Lafayette County Fire Investigator, arrested 36-year-old Benjamin Paul Forester of Etta, Mississippi for one count of Arson and one count of Second-Degree Arson.
Forester was is being held at the Detention Center on a $100,000.00 bond, set by a Justice Court Judge.

Duties of the Sheriff involve two primary areas; law enforcement of the county and administrative. The law enforcement duties are to keep the peace in Lafayette County while administrative duties consist primarily of serving as the county jailor. Due to the growth of Lafayette County, the Sheriff Department now employs 26 deputies working four 12 hour shifts.
