Memorial at Ole Miss’ Confederate Cemetery – May 5, 2013
On Sunday, May 5, 2013, the University Greys Camp #1803 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Bedford Forrest Chapter #448 of the United Daughters of the Confederacy held a memorial for the Confederate soldiers buried on the University of Mississippi‘s Oxford campus.
There are over 700 Confederate soldiers buried just behind the Tad Pad, BKA Tad Smith Coliseum on the Ole Miss campus.
Most of the soldiers were casualties of the Battle of Shiloh on April 6 and 7, 1862.

A seventh-generation Lafayette County, Mississippian, Newt Rayburn has been involved in the Ole Miss area for many years. Newt's alter ego—Neuter Cooter—lead the Mississippi band THE COOTERS to Rocknoll Glory across the USA from 1993-2018.
Newt is proud Father of eight-year old daughter Alex.
