City of Oxford, Mississippi Board of Aldermen Meeting Agenda – Tuesday, November 17, 2020

Meeting is at 5:00 pm in the City Hall Courtroom.

Notice that certain commission members will be included in the meeting via teleconference, subject to City of Oxford Code of Ordinances Section 2-82.

  4. Authorize the approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting on November 3, 2020. (Ashley Atkinson)

  6. Consider the consent agenda:
    1. Request approval of water and/or sewer adjustments in accordance with the Oxford Utilities Leak Adjustment Policy. (Rob Neely)
    2. Request permission for one officer to attend the Command College on December 6-11, 2020 in Oxford, MS at a cost of $350.00. (Jeff McCutchen)

  7. Recognize the OHS Boys Cross Country Team.
  8. Adopt a resolution of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Oxford, Mississippi authorizing and directing the issuance of taxable combined Water & Sewer System Revenue Bonds, Series 2020B, of the City of Oxford in the aggregate principal amount of not to exceed $5,800,000.00 for the purpose of advance refunding and defeasing all of the outstanding $8,500,000 City of Oxford, Mississippi Combined Water & Sewer system revenue bonds, Series 2011, Dated May 1, 2011; Prescribing the form and details of said refunding bonds; providing certain covenants of said city in connection with said refunding bonds; directing the preparation, execution, and delivery of said refunding bonds; authorizing the negotiated sale and private placement of said refunding bonds; approving the form of and authorizing the execution and delivery of a private placement agreement in connection with the sale and private placement of said refunding bonds; approving the form of and authorizing the execution and delivery of an escrow trust agreement in connection with said refunding bonds and said outstanding prior obligations; providing for the collection, segregation and distribution of the revenues to be derived from the operation of said combined Water & Sewer System in an amount sufficient to pay the cost of the operation and maintenance thereof and to pay the principal of and interest on said refunding bonds; making provision for certain funds in connection with said system and said refunding bonds; directing the redemption of said prior bonds; and for related purposes.(Sue Fairbank)
  9. Consider an appeal, from Michael Joe and Cheryl Cannon, of the Historic Preservation Commission’s denial of Case #596, a request to demolish the existing structure located at 1009 Hayes Avenue. (Kate Kenwright)
