Meeting is at 5:00 pm in the City Hall Courtroom.

Notice that certain commission members will be included in the meeting via teleconference, subject to City of Oxford Code of Ordinances Section 2-82.

  2. Adopt the agenda for the meeting.
  3. Mayor’s Report
  4. Authorize the approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting on August 18, 2020. (Ashley Atkinson)

  6. Consider the consent agenda:
    1. Request approval of water and/or sewer adjustments in accordance with the Oxford Utilities Leak Adjustment Policy. (Rob Neely)
    2. Request permission to hire two Seasonal employees in the Environmental Services Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    3. Request permission to advertise the Fall 2020 Hiring Pool for the Oxford Fire Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    4. Request permission to accept the resignation of an employee in the Oxford Fire Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    5. Request permission to approve a step increase for an employee in the Development Services- Building Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    6. Request permission to hire two full-time Patrol Officers in the Oxford Police Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    7. Request permission to accept the resignation of an employee in the Oxford Municipal Court Department. (Braxton Tullos)
    8. Request permission for six officers to attend Supervision and Leadership Level II Training course in Oxford, MS on September 9-11, 2020 at a cost of $500.00 (registration fees only). (Jeff McCutchen)
    9. Request permission for the Director and Officers of the 405D Alcohol and Drug Impaired Driving – Training Coordination Grant to travel to teach for state training for FY20/21, in accordance with the requirements of the grant. (Jeff McCutchen)
  7. Request permission to accept a quote for Auto and General Liability Insurance for Oxford University Transit for FY20/21. (Donna Zampella)
  8. Request permission to accept a grant from the MS Department of Transportation for Oxford University Transit for FY20/21. (Donna Zampella)
  9. Consider an appeal of the Planning Commission’s Denial of Case #2649, a building height variance for a 5th floor, for a property located at 600 Molly Barr Road, being further described as PPIN 5638. (Ben Requet)
  10. Discuss the current Serving Oxford Safely Plan.
  11. Budget hearing for Fiscal Year 2020-2021. (Ashley Atkinson)
  12. Authorize re-appointments to the Pathways Commission. (Ben Requet)

  15. Request permission to declare equipment in the Development Services- Building Department surplus and authorize its disposal. (Chris Carter)

  17. Request permission to accept a grant from the MS Office of Highway Safety for 405D Alcohol and Drug Impaired Driving – Training Coordination for FY20/21 in the amount of $580,345.08. (Jeff McCutchen)
  18. Third reading and vote on a proposed ordinance amending Chapter 18, Section 18-71-Definitions, to add Subsections (a)-(d), and to add Section 18-78-Keeping of Vicious Dogs to the Code of Ordinances of the City of Oxford, Mississippi. (Pope Mallette)
  19. Request permission to advertise and conduct a reverse auction for a dump truck for the Oxford Utilities-Water & Sewer Division. (Rob Neely)

  25. First reading of a proposed Ordinance to amend Chapter 42 of the Code of Ordinances regarding Flood Damage Prevention. (Reanna Mayoral)
  26. Consider Change Order #6 for $208,373.90 and 190 days of contract time for the Highway 314 Sewer Project. (Reanna Mayoral)
  27. Discuss readdressing and renaming of annexed street known as CR 102 (College Hill Road). (Reanna Mayoral)
  28. Authorize the Mayor to sign an agreement with the Department of the Army for Design and Construction Assistance for the Oxford Regional Water Supply and Treatment Project. (Bart Robinson)
