15th Annual Pride of the South Benefit Concert ft. UM Wind Ensemble at Ford Center 4/23

The 15th Annual Pride of the South Benefit Concert featuring The University of Mississippi Wind Ensemble will be conducted by David Willson, Director of Bands. 

David Willson taught in the public schools of Mississippi for sixteen years, is Past-President of Mississippi Band Masters Association and was voted Mississippi’s4.23-UM Wind Most Outstanding Band Director in 1989.  He is in his twenty-fifth year as Director of Bands at The University of Mississippi where he was named Teacher of the Year in 2007 and awarded the Frist Award “for his service to students” in 2005. In 2010, Willson was honored by Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity with the Outstanding Contribution to Bands Award.  Willson is Past-President of Phi Beta Mu International where he strongly promoted mentoring for band directors and service in the band profession. His Starting Beginner Band Students and Band Calisthenics are used extensively throughout the southeast.
