The Gin Burns Down
Included in this issue of The Local Voice is seven page photo essay of the fire that burned down the old cotton gin on March 6, 2010 in Oxford, Mississippi. This building once housed Avent Gin Inc., The Gin Restaurant & Bar, Gin Alley Compact Discs, and several other businesses, although it had been empty for many years. Photographers contributing to this essay include: Newt Rayburn, Daniel Morrow, Zach Tutor, Jason Taylor Plunk, Jane Marie Dawkins, Lucky Tucker, Kevin W. Frye, and more.
